Antique 121 years old Illinois men's pocket watch.
THE MOVEMENT: 18 size, Model 5, stem wind, lever set, full plate gold plated (gilded) movement with 7 Jewels. Serial number reads 982020, and that indicates that the watch was made in 1890, exactly 121 years ago, quite a piece of history now, isn't it? The mainspring is fully wound up, the balance looks to be good, and the watch attempts to run when shaken, so it looks like the movement needs cleaning.
THE CASE: triple hinged, hunting style gold filled case. Although apart from the letter "P" and the number 85489 that appear inside the front cover, there is no other marking anywhere else, it definitely looks to me gold filled. Nice and clean case, the back cover hinges are good and tight, the front one just a little loose, but the front cover - when you push the crown - pops open properly, just a little past 90 degrees. The crystal is missing, but that should not be a problem to find.
THE DIAL: white porcelain dial signed ILLINOIS. Nice and clean, with several very faint hairlines.
