We are liquidating a high end estate that has some of the finest antique pocket watches that we have seen. The gentleman who passed was collector of high end jewelry, art & furniture. We were told by the family that he bought, at auction 40 years ago, another mans collection of antique pocket watches. He has many watches to offer in the weeks to come. This watch has the original auction card from 40 years ago telling about the watchmaker & a brief description. I will put on here what the card has on it.....
'12 size open face, plain polished 14K gold case. Key wind (no key) Gold dial with raised gold numerals. 10 jewels. Detached lever and landscape in center. Case & movement- #48472. Made by Cooper, Liverpool about 1860, mint condition except VI & VII on face. Engraved F. Cunds. Detached lever-10 holes & levers-jeweled. Unusual balance wheel, 15 jewels'.
It is a beautiful watch, no scratches on the glass, 2 small dents on the back case. We left on the original tag from the auction from 40 yrs ago. The original collector was, 'C.A. Tucker'. It will be sold as is...no refunds or returns on this watch. We do not know whether it works since it does not have the key nor do know what it would take to get it working. It looks good inside, all jewels are in. NICE! Thank-you for looking & God Bless!
