ANTIQUE ELGIN POCKET WATCH SIZE 3/0 HUNTING CASE 14K
Description
This is an Elgin 14k hunting case pocket watch made circa 1899. The inner case is inscribed "GG to CM XMAS 1904". Serial number is 8622606. name on the works: "Elgin Natl. Watch co. U.S.A. Safety Pinion". The pattern is a heavily textured geometric, with a small shell or flower design at hinge on one side, on the other is an oval suitable for inscription. The watch is in good repair, runs and keeps excellent time. There is a white porcelain dial with roman numerals. A second hand is at the six o'clock position. There is a hairline crack from the center of the dial that radiates to between the 1 and 2. I am not able to get it in an image as it is so faint. Only close inspection will show this crack. As you can see from the images, the works are very clean and in perfect condition.
The inside of the inner case is stamped "Warrented 585 The K.W.C.CO." Numbers in a "V" underneath the sheild are 4708455. The inside of the outer case is stamped "Keystone 14k, and with the same numbers in a "V" underneath the sheild. There are hand inscribed letters and numbers indicating when and by whom the watch was serviced. This watch is in mint condition.
The hinge is in good repair, and the case has no damage, dents, repairs, etc. It looks as if it just came off the showroom floor. Hands are blue spade hands.
The watch measures 36mm or approximately 1 13/32". The entire watch weighs approximately 43 grams.
