Sweet Bird & Nest Antique Pocket Watch
14k Multi-Color Gold on both sides (yellow, more yellow, green and white gold!) Diameter is approx. 1-5/8" (excluding stem.)
Hunter Case with floral design on front. Bird, nest with eggs, and cross on reverse.
Made for "C.D. Peacock" Company on porcelain watch dial. Also has lower second hand dial.
Inside watch works inscribed "ELGIN NAT'L WATCH CO. USA" "12315366" "15 JEWELS"
Back cover is labeled 14k.
Inscribed "D.K. McL. to Fannie Myrtle"on inner works cover. (Was he sweet on her or what?!)
Condition: Antique. There are a two tiny dings on the edge of the inscribed innter cover that cannot be seen when the case is closed. There are a few very tiny bumps to the outer case that you almost need a magnifying glass to see, and are somewhat hidden in the cross hatch background. Very gently used (but dearly loved!) in my opinion. KEEPS PERFECT TIME.
