following sophisticated antique
timepiece - regulator which was made
by DOXA Company and is dated to ca 1910’s. This is a
good watch brightly reflecting all
canons of classical Swiss watch school and remaining to this day the
quintessence of the horological precision instrument.This unique
timepiece features an ORIGINAL porcelain enamel dial that was professionally
restored and now is in excellent condition. The three measured units of time, seconds, minutes and hours, are
spatially separated from one another. The purpose is to be able to tell the
precise time at a glance without the hands covering each other. The hour
display and the small seconds display have their separate place on the dial.
Only the “large” minutes hand describes its circle from the centre. The original
dial is signed “DOXA”– REGULATEUR.This model
of timepiece has four-piece, double
hinged case. The existence of an inner dust cover lid is a good sign of a
quality watch. It was used to protect the mechanism from dust and debris and to
provide an extra layer of protection from shock or moisture. The inside of the
outer case lid is stamped DOXA – METAL
ARGENTAN - DEPOSE and case reference number #1502055. On the inner lid there are medals and the signature about
the prestigious exhibitions where DOXA
won.This is a watch with the owner’s name engraved on it.This unique
watch is mechanical and completely
original. The original movement is branded too. The signed original movement with genuine jewels is in an excellent
status which was very well saved, considering age of this watch.
